Alcaeus is the project of Filippos Lamprakis, an electronic producer from Heraklion who fuses Cretan tradition with ambient, downtempo and synthwave textures to create a modern Mediterranean sound.​

Who is Alcaeus?
Who is Alcaeus?
I am Filippos Lamprakis from Heraklion, raised between municipal band rehearsals on Sundays and piano experiments in the evenings. With harmony degrees from Merlo and Makridis, I moved from school stages and club bands into electronic production that keeps one foot in Cretan soil and one in the synth world.​

What kind of music does Alcaeus create?
My music is a fusion of Cretan folk colours and electronic avant‑garde, where lyra phrases, traditional rhythms and Mediterranean harmonies meet ambient pads and downtempo beats. Each track is a journey from the mountains of Ida to the depths of modular synth textures.
I’m also working on an original vocal jazz & swing project for hotels in Crete.

Soon, I’ll be sharing more about how I use AI and no‑code automation tools in my music workflow and for small hospitality businesses in Crete.

My sound is a fusion of tradition and innovation, where the sounds of Crete meet electronic avant-garde.
Ambient Landscapes
Atmospheric compositions that paint slow burning soundscapes. Every note is a brushstroke on a breathing canvas, ideal for late night listening or filming moods.
Ethnic Fusion
Cretan lyra, traditional instruments, and local rhythms converse with modern drums bass and synths to reimagine folk motifs for today's ears.
Downtempo Vibes
Relaxed grooves that carry you away like waves in the Aegean, balancing melody and space for moments of reflection and calm.

Each live performance is a unique blend of improvisation, looping and audience energy, where traditional instruments, voice and electronics are layered in real time to build evolving soundscapes. From Heraklion festivals to intimate venues, every night becomes a different sonic story.

Local Artists
I collaborate with Cretan and Mediterranean artists to connect authentic folk tradition with contemporary electronic production, through remixes, joint performances and studio projects. These bridges between generations keep tradition alive while pushing it into new sonic territory.
Remixes & Reworks
I recreate traditional pieces with an electronic approach, giving new life to beloved melodies. The old becomes new, the familiar becomes a surprise.
Radio & Media
My tracks and live recordings have appeared on radio stations and podcasts, reaching listeners beyond Crete, helping build a small but dedicated community of listeners who seek modern, atmospheric interpretations of Greek and Mediterranean sound.
Workshops & Education
Yes, I offer workshops and one‑to‑one sessions covering harmony, composition and electronic music production for beginners and experienced musicians who want to deepen their craft. Sessions can be tailored for artists in Crete or online participants worldwide.

Where is Alcaeus’ music created?
Where my Sound is Born
My studio in Heraklion is a hybrid space where vintage synths, modular systems and modern plugins meet acoustic instruments, allowing me to move easily from raw experimentation to polished production. It is where tracks are written, recorded, mixed and shaped in collaboration with local artists.
